Operational name update clarifies association role for rural communities served Introducing Community Futures Western Ontario (CFWO)
Brantford, Ontario – January 13, 2022: Effective immediately Western Ontario Community Futures Development Corporation Association (WOCFDCA) has changed its day-to-day operational name to Community Futures Western Ontario. This decision was unanimously supported by the Board of Directors.
The main reason for the change was to have the association’s name better communicate who we are and what we do. “Our operational name is now succinct and better aligned with the community futures program” notes CFWO Executive Director Sarah Meharg.
“As we navigate through our strategic priorities as an association, we believe that having consistent brand alignment is imperative to our ongoing success, the success of our clients
and the overall success of the community futures program,” adds Meharg.
During the pandemic, the Community Futures Program has played a vital role in delivering millions of dollars in government support programs to rural entrepreneurs and businesses across southwestern Ontario.
CFWO is passionate about helping rural businesses succeed so local communities grow and thrive. We look at the big picture, develop ideas, and tools to assist our member offices, ensuring they have the resources they need to provide small business loans. We are your
