H2nanO has received support through the Southern Ontario Fund for Investment in Innovation (SOFII), administered by Community Futures Western Ontario, to help bring its innovative water treatment solutions to more customers and support the company’s next stage of growth.
Across Canada, industries such as mining, oil and gas, and critical minerals refining face growing pressure to manage water more efficiently while reducing costs and environmental impact. Treating and disposing of contaminated or highly saline water can be expensive, energy-intensive, and operationally challenging. H2nanO is helping address these challenges with solutions that use readily available resources such as sunlight and waste heat to clean, recover, reuse, and manage wastewater more efficiently.
Rather than relying solely on conventional treatment methods, H2nanO takes a different approach by putting existing, often underused, energy sources to work. Its solutions, including the Stratus water recovery platform and Oasis passive treatment system, help customers improve water management while reducing operating costs, energy consumption, and environmental impact.
The SOFII investment will support H2nanO’s growth and commercialization plans, including pilot equipment fabrication, qualification testing, field deployments, and working capital needs associated with expanding customer projects. The funding will also help the company increase its capacity to run multiple pilot projects simultaneously and move successful demonstrations closer to full-scale implementation.
“SOFII’s support accelerates the scale, pace, and impact of our commercialization. This new working capital arrives at a critical time, letting us demonstrate and de-risk our technology with industry partners and grow revenue and reach.” – Zac Young, President & Co-Founder, H2nanO
Already working with government and industry partners on a growing number of initiatives, H2nanO is gaining momentum as organizations seek practical and cost-effective ways to address increasingly complex water management challenges. Led by President and Co-Founder Zac Young, P.Eng., the company is focused on helping customers make better use of existing resources while reducing the costs and environmental impacts associated with wastewater management.
With support from SOFII, H2nanO is well positioned to build on its progress, expand its reach, and bring innovative clean-water solutions to more organizations across Canada and beyond.
