Gingerbug Brewing Company Inc. Receives Continued SOFII Support to Help Fuel Growth and Expansion

Gingerbug Brewing Company Inc. has received additional support through the Southern Ontario Fund for Investment in Innovation (SOFII), administered by Community Futures Western Ontario, as the company continues building on recent momentum and prepares for its next stage of growth.
What began as a family-run farm business making ginger-based beverages has grown into a company opening new retail opportunities across Canada and the United States. Since its first SOFII investment, Gingerbug has continued to grow with a clear focus on product quality, operational readiness, and steady, sustainable expansion.
In recent months, Gingerbug has confirmed new listings with major retailers including Loblaw Companies Limited, Metro, and Thrive Market. Additional opportunities with Wegmans, Sprouts, and Whole Foods remain under review as the company continues exploring further growth in the U.S. market.
For Gingerbug, the Loblaw listing marks an important milestone. Securing shelf space with one of Canada’s largest grocery retailers creates a meaningful opportunity, while also requiring careful planning around production, packaging, and the day-to-day operations needed to support a broader rollout.

Growth and Market Expansion

Over the last year, Gingerbug has continued refining both its products and its operations to meet growing demand. Known for its organic, non-GMO prebiotic sodas made with real ginger and simple ingredients, the company has built a loyal customer base while strengthening its place in a competitive market. In January 2026, Gingerbug reformulated all its SKUs to remove natural flavours, meaning its products are now made only with real food ingredients and carry a 100% clean label. This milestone reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to transparency, quality, and products made with intention.
As distribution expands, Gingerbug is preparing for higher production volumes, additional retail launches, and new products to support the company’s next phase of growth in both the Canadian and U.S. markets.
The company’s operational foundation has strengthened alongside that growth. With experienced leadership and expanding retail and distribution relationships, Gingerbug is focused on scaling in a way that protects the quality and consistency that helped build the business.

Supporting Production and Expansion

This latest SOFII support will help Gingerbug respond to the demands of new retail partnerships and increased production, including larger production runs, readiness for new listings, and the continued rollout of updated formulations and packaging.
“SOFII has been one of the heroes in our story, as we have scaled Gingerbug coast to coast across Canada,” said Megan Silk, Co-Founder of Gingerbug. “With our recent expansion into the U.S., the support we have received from SOFII will be game-changing for our growth, in allowing us to expand and scale at a healthy rate, and to seize opportunities as they are presented to us this year.”
It will also support the company as it continues strengthening its presence across Canada while preparing for additional opportunities in the U.S. market.
Grounded in its commitment to real ingredients, thoughtful production, and steady growth, Gingerbug is well-positioned to build on its recent progress in the months ahead with continued support through SOFII.
